(These pics are of the city of Sete, France)
We just got back from a Christian Associates (France/Italy) staff conference in Sete, France. Our time down there was so wonderful. To remind you, we’re taking this month in France to discern more of the future God has for us here. It just *happened* to overlap with the regional staff conference, taking place in the south of France. We honestly weren’t even planning on being in France this month (were originally planning on September), so when God slowed us down to work in His timing, we knew something was up.
To keep it brief: the conference was amazing. The conference location was beautiful. The weather: eh, could have been warmer, but I’m not complaining. The sessions themselves were challenging and encouraging. The time we spent looking at Strengths Finder and how it affects 1) you as a person as well as 2) how you interact with teams or individuals was incredibly interesting to me – it’s good preparation for living here, when we’ll be thrown into a neighborhood of people we don’t know with a team we won’t know. Pretty sure I’ll be exploring this much deeper in the near future..
The biggest high from the weekend was the people. We were so blessed to be able to meet and spend time with pretty much all of the CA staff from both France & Italy. They are great – I cant even describe it. They were real, yet encouraging. They gave us a lot of great insight into what we need to be praying for and planning for before we make the move. I wish I lived here already so I could really get to know them now. But, until then, we’ll definitely be taking every opportunity to get over here and learn more from them.
